VisitScotland - Perthshire Environmental Policy

LIVE IT - LOOK AFTER IT!

At VisitScotland we believe that our employees, our visitors and tourism businesses all have a responsibility to look after the natural and built environment. Scotland is known for its stunning landscapes, amazing wildlife, fresh air and clean water – let’s keep it that way.

Below are some of the ways in which VisitScotland plays a part in protecting our environment:

We switch off the lights and look at the stars

We turn off the taps and collect April showers

We recycle our waste and enjoy unspoiled landscapes

We take the train or bus and watch Scotland go by in technicolour

We buy local, buy environmental and make a difference to our local area

We love nature and encourage the animals and plants to thrive

We ask our staff to live and work green to look after Scotland for everyone

We encourage our visitors to be environmentally aware and protect Scotland for those who will visit in centuries to come

We ask businesses to go green and support a nation which puts sustainability at its heart

VisitScotland Perthshire has achieved environmental awards for all its offices
All VisitScotland Information Centres in Perthshire and the local Perth Administrative Office have participated in the Green Tourism Business Scheme since 2004 - all locations have maintained Gold Awards. This reflects the importance we place on preserving our unspoilt environment for visitors today and in the future.
