Green Self-Catering Accommodation

Perthshire self-catering accommodation operators participating in the VisitScotland Green Tourism Business Scheme(GTBS) are listed below. Simply scroll down to see a current listing of chalets, cottages and hostels, all of which are run in an environmentally friendly way. For further details on the scheme see Introduction.

Businesses can achieve one of three levels of award:
BRONZE - Environmental Commitment with basic good practice
SILVER - Environmental Performance with examples of good practice & performance improvement
GOLD - Excellence in Environmental Management with significant good practice and established systems
 
DUNCRIEVIE LOG CABINS - GOLD AWARD
With far reaching views across beautiful countryside, the cabins are situated on a working organic farm just south of Perth. Bracken and Fingask cabins have their own wind turbine generators and both hold a Gold Award from the Green Tourism Business Scheme. All cabins are built of Finnish logs. Excellent base for golf, walking, cycling and touring. Quality Assurance Award - 4 star Self-Catering.

LOCH MONZIEVAIRD CHALETS - GOLD AWARD
Norwegian chalets beautifully situated by a small loch, fringed by mature woodland of oak and beech. Walks, fishing, golf, riding and tennis available on site or close by. A haven of peace and tranquillity. Walkers and cyclists welcome.

LOCH OSSIAN HOSTEL - GOLD AWARD
A remote eco hostel offering a unique wilderness experience. Situated on the edge of the Great Moor of Rannoch. Can be reached on foot or by taking the train from Rannoch to Corrour Station. Fantastic low and high level walks, wildlife watching and relaxation.

ERIGMORE ESTATE - SILVER AWARD
Lodges, holiday homes and cottages in the wooded grounds and beautifully established gardens of a Victorian mansion. CNOC EOGHAINN COTTAGE - SILVER AWARD

CLOAG FARM COTTAGES - BRONZE AWARD
Three family run self-catering cottages set on a working farm in peaceful countryside seven miles west of Perth.
