These half day sessions are ideal for anyone interested in trying Country and Field Sports. Choose either shooting, fishing or deer stalking and learn direct from some of the top professionals in the field.
Lasting approximately three hours, these courses are the ideal introduction to one of Scotland’s most exciting sports.

Learn the basic skills and techniques involved in each activity and find out more about Scotland’s rural landscape and wildlife management. The sessions will also let you know how you can take your interest in the sport further.
Find out how Scotland’s rural landscape has been shaped by country sports and book your days activity with a better understanding of what your day will consist of. Choose from fishing, shooting or deer stalking and enjoy a three hour introduction to your chosen country sport. If you enjoy one come and try another.
Suitable if you are a complete beginner or have some basic knowledge.

Stalking opportunities
Learn some of the skills required to get up close and personal with our biggest land mammals in the hills and woods. Find out which deer species you are likely to encounter in Scotland, and learn about etiquette and safety while shooting a full bore rifle.
Have a go
This is where you get to have a go at shooting at targets and learn about the gun and safety procedures on a deer stalking outing.
The Environment
In this section you will learn how deer stalking fits in to Scotland’s land management and the benefits to our wildlife.
The Next Step
Now it’s time to have a go at the real thing, find out how and where you can book your sport and the legal situation regarding firearm certificates. Any participants under 17 yrs old must have their own firearm certificate to participate in the practical shooting element.

Discover the diverse nature of the different shooting disciplines and find out about species encountered, etiquette and safety. At the same time build an understanding of the structure of each shooting outing.
