This 2.4ha Himalayan/Nor th American woodland garden overlooking the scenic Strathtay valley, features woodland plants regenerating and expanding freely beneath a canopy of rhododendrons, acers, rowans and birches. Giant Himalayan lilies, blue poppies, exotic arisaemas, skunk cabbages and copious numbers of candelabra primulas grow in profusion in the marvellous leaf litter and acidic soil. No chemicals are used in the garden and weeding is carried out by hand. Cluny boasts a champion Sequoia with a girth of 11m. Although May and June are regarded as Cluny's 'must visit' months, early spring with carpets of erythroniums and trilliums, and autumn with glorious colours can be equally rewarding. A brilliant place to view Red Squirrels and many woodland birds.
